Shoghlana Releases Its new Issue and Celebrates the Labor Day with a Song by Massar Egbari

Shoghlana rolls out its 6th issue in May 2014, coinciding with its first anniversary and Labor Day, which is celebrated by the newspaper this year with Massar Egbari'snew song Hela Hela and video clip that was screened on Osama Kamal's Cairo 360 on Alqahira Wal Nas.

The newspaper's content is created and designed by MAD Solutions which has also produced the new song Hela Hela.

Commenting on the new clip Hela Hela, Maher Diab, Creative Director of the video and Co-founder at MAD Solutions, stated, "Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success. This is what the clip Hela Hela about. It spots the light on real workers in their working environment and how each tool from every worker built up the word "Proud" in the end. "Every detail was chosen to preserve the ethnicity of the clip even with the use of natural resources in terms of light," Diab

Shoghlana is the first non-profit newspaper that seeks to highlight topics related to blue-collar jobs and workers. It is aiming to promote the value of workers and the important role they play in the society as well as enhancing the social appreciation of workers in general. Shoghlana is a free newspaper that releases every two months.

Shoghlana's 6th issue celebrates Labor Day by publishing useful topics related to their respective working fields; including an infographic highlighting figures and statistics of Egypt's manpower, such as total number of manpower which amounts to 27 million Egyptians while only 23.4 million are employed; 37% of which are working in the public sector, while 54.6% are employed in the private sector and 27.7% are self-employed. The issue further analyzes these percentages by highlighting differences between men and women in terms of employment and unemployment.

In its job profile section, Shoghlana brings light on the car mechanic profession, highlighting the job description and requirements, besides it features a success story of a car mechanic who could become a supervisor in a car maintenance center.

This issue also includes different types of employment contracts, some advice to increase energy in work, and a guide on how to decide on taking or quitting a job. The new release also sheds light on employment initiatives and job opportunities that can be gained by phone.

Decent Jobs for Egypt's Young People project aims at increasing decent employment opportunities for young men and women, especially the marginalized sectors, through empowering the Ministry of Manpower and Migration, the relevant ministries, and various local partners. It also aims at developing the abilities of institutions that help the youth acquire the skills and experience needed to enhance their chances in finding a decent job. In addition to this, the project aims at supporting local public employment service offices, youth organizations, entreprise development, and entrepreneurship through promotional campaigns, providing a more conducive environment, and business development services. This project is implemented in Port Said, Minya, and Red Sea governorates.
