ACC Sheds Lights on Three Arab VOD Platforms during Berlinale
Promoting Arab Cinema in international festivals and film markets worldwide, Arab Cinema Center (ACC) sheds light on three professional VOD platforms during the 66th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). These platforms feature Arab films to the Arab world and beyond, namely; MoviePigs (USA), Minaa (Jordan) and TV.AE (UAE).
MoviePigs is the first online cinema platform dedicated to Arab expats in the USA and Canada and soon to be in Europe, streaming high-quality Arabic indie films with English subtitles. MoviePigs will also open doors for Arab Cinema aficionados to connect with creative Arab filmmakers and will soon expand its services to include international indie films in the future.
The Creative Documentary Platform (CDP) (Amman, Jordan) and MAD Solutions (Cairo, Egypt) founded Minaa as a Public-Engagement Distribution Scheme. Supported by Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation (Amman) and Key Technological Contributor Striim.in (Finland), in collaboration with Ma3mal 612 Founder and Organizer of the Karama Human Rights Film Festival (Amman), the platform will collect and harbor regional creative documentaries of different lengths and allow their online streaming via Minaa VOD. It will also distribute creative docs through TV stations, festivals, cultural centers, cinemas, universities, airlines...etc. The Minaa VOD will be an interactive bilingual VOD Platform (Arabic and English). It will feature free and paid viewership for individuals and institutions, regional and international. The viewers can watch docs from different devices and will be able to engage with filmmakers directly.
A UAE based dual-screen platform committed to developing and growing regional and global talent and content relevant to the Arab world. The TV.AE provides this support as a unique platform that focuses the attention on the content and enhances the users' viewing and interactive experience.
