Al Masa Art Production Releases Teaser Trailer for Al-Mamar

Al Masa Art Production has released the teaser trailer for Al-Mamar by director Sherif Arafa, producer Hisham Abdel Khalek, and starring Ahmed Ezz, to announce the upcoming release of the biggest production in the history of Egyptian and Arab Cinema next June.

The teaser revealed the filmÂ’s historical background as it featured fighter jets flying over a number of military tanks and huge army bases, followed by a scene of a group of soldiers walking through valleys and then going down a towering mountain. The teaser ends with the soldiers moving stealthily forward.

The teaser was released on the filmÂ’s official Facebook page only hours after it debuted on Sky News Arabia on Thursday morning. The channel will also host the filmÂ’s producer Hisham Abdel Khalek next Sunday morning to chat about the action behind-the-scenes and the filmÂ’s unprecedented large scale production.

Al-Mamar is written and directed by Sherif Arafa. The filmÂ’s screenplay was co-written by Amir Teima who also wrote the songs included in its soundtrack. The film takes place during the 1967 war and until the War of Attrition.

Alongside superstar Ahmed Ezz, Al-Mamar features a large number of stars, such as Ahmed Rizk, Eyad Nassar, Ahmed Falawkas, Mohamed Farrag, Ahmed Salah Al-Saadany, Mohammad Al Sharnouby, Mohamed Gomaa, Mahmoud Hafez, Amir Salah Eldin, Asmaa Aboul Yazeed, and up-and-coming actress Alhan El-Mahdy. Hend Sabry also joins the cast as a guest star, alongside Sherif Mounir, Enaam Salousa, and Hajjaj Abdul Azim. The filmÂ’s score was composed by Omar Khairat and the crew also includes DOP Ayman Abu El-Makarem, Set Designer Basil Hossam, and Sound Engineer Ahmed Abdel Khalek. An American team of professional choreographers of battles and action sequences were employed to work on the film as well.

Al-Mamar was filmed over the course of three months in five cities, including Suez, South Sinai, Aswan, Ismailia, and Cairo. The production company created the entire movie sets, while the Ministry of DefenseÂ’s Department of Morale Affairs provided the filming locations where set designers were brought in to create exact replicas of battle grounds at the time.

This is the fifth collaboration between Al Masa Art Production and director Sherif Arafa, following El Gezira, El Gezira 2, Welad el-Amm, and Fool el seen el azeem.
