Bahman Kiarostami's Documentary Monir to Screen at Alserkal Avenue in the UAE
In cooperation with Cinema Akil and MAD Solutions, director Bahman Kiarostami's documentary film, Monir, will screen at Alserkal Avenue in the UAE on Wednesday, 23rd of August at 7:00 pm within the Now Showing program.
Directed by Bahman Kiarostami, Monir is a documentary that traces the life and work of Iranian architect Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, who rose to fame in the 1970s along with her geometric mirror designs and succeeded in creating a special artistic language that
reflects Iranian culture.
Bahman Kiarostami is an Iranian director who made his debut in 1996 with the film Morteza Momayez: Father of Iranian Contemporary Graphic Design. He went on to direct documentaries that mainly shed light on arts and music, as well as portray the apparent and hidden details that make up post-revolution Iran. His films were screened at numerous international film festivals, including Shiraz, part of the Taste of Iran series, and Taxi Tehran (2011), Statues of Tehran (2008), and Monir.
