Documentary Film Railway Men Screens at the Agadir International Documentary Film Festival (FIDADOC) in Morocco

After getting selected at several international film festivals, Erige Sehiri'sdocumentary film, Railway Men,will screen at the 11th Agadir International Documentary Film Festival (FIDADOC) (June 18-22).

Organized by the Culture and Education Association through Audiovisual Association (ACEA) in 2008, the Agadir International Documentary Film Festival (FIDADOC) is the first Moroccan cinema event dedicated to documentary films. The festival aims to introduce a cinematographic form of writing rooted in reality to a wider audience.

Railway Men won a Special Mention of the Jury at the Festival CINEMED, Montpellier. The film screened at the Carthage Film Festival (JCC), International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), DocPoint - Helsinki Documentary Film Festival, Tozeur International Film Festival (TOIFF), and the Visions du Réel in Nyon, Switzerland.

Railway Men is a road movie that draws a portrait of Tunisian railway men and women. Driving the old locomotive, the protagonists of the Railway Men defend their own choices despite the risks. By denouncing incompetence and corruption, this film celebrates dignity, hope and resilience.

Directed and written by Erige Sehiri, Railway Men features Afef Abdelli, Ahmed Mourad,Issameddine Fitati, and Khaled Gharbi. The film is produced by Nomadis Images and Akka Films in coproduction with Les Films de Zayna and Al Jazeera Documentary. Railway Men is distributed in the Arab world by MAD Solutions. The film received grants from the Arab Fund for Art and Culture (AFAC), Fonds Francophone de Production Audiovisuelle du Sud, and the Doha Film Institute.

Erige Sehiri is a Tunisian-French film director, producer and journalist. In 2012, she directed her short documentary My Father's Facebook. Since 2013, she dedicated herself to filming the Tunisian railways and made her first feature film, Railway Men.
