Five Ads by DOP Ahmad Al Morsy Win the Gold Award at Dubai Lynx 2016
At the 10th Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity, five of DOP Ahmad Al Morsy TV commercials received awards at the most important festival that honors the best work in advertising and TV commercials in the Arab world.
Under the category of Film Craft that is especially dedicated for honoring the artistic value and quality of advertising work, DOP Ahmad Al Morsy's three TV commercials were granted the Gold Award. Under the category of Film, two ads for EDITA to promote its new products for its iconic Molto croissant won the Dubai Lynx Gold award. Coming as part of a campaign titled 'Everyday Needs a Hug', both of the two ads are directed by Hadi El Bagoury and was joined by Al Morsy in his capacity as the DOP. (https://vimeo.com/151505034)
The Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity is an annual event that aims to bring together talents and innovations in the Arab World and North Africa, and from all over the world, in order to honor the region's best work in advertising. At the festival, the advertising work is subject to an assessment by a distinguished international jury committee.
Aside from working as a DOP on 12 films and winning several awards, Al Morsy became one of the most important cameramen in the Arab world due to his passion in experimenting with new tools in more than 1000 ads. Thus, he has become one of the most famous Arab names in the commercial industry in several Arab countries, such as Egypt, Morocco, UAE, Jordon, and Lebanon, in addition to foreign countries, such as Spain, UK, and France. His talent made ARRI selects one of his projects (Union National Bank) as the IBC Exhibition main ad; it was about videos that have been filmed using ALEXA cameras in 2015.
Al Morsy also filmed many music videos for major artists in the Arab world such as, Tamer Hosni, Samira Said, Mohamed Mounir, Angham and Sami Yusuf.
