The Oscar Nominated Jordanian Film Theeb Revisits the Arab Cinemas
MAD Solutions Releases Theeb in Metropolis Cinema in Lebanon for 10 Days
As the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences┬« comes close to announcing the Academy Award┬« winning films on Sunday, 28 February, MAD Solutions has decided to re-release director Naji Abu Nowar's Jordanian film Theeb in Arab cinemas to offer Arab audiences the opportunity to watch the Oscar┬« nominated film for Best Foreign Language Film. The film will be launched in Metropolis cinema in Beirut on Sunday, 7 February for 10 days only at 5:30 pm and 10:00 pm (GMT+2).
Theeb's return to cinemas comes after its successful screenings in 11 Arab countries in 2015; an astounding achievement by a non-Egyptian Arab film. MAD Solutions will continue to release the film in cinemas until the Oscar┬« winning films are finally announced.
Theeb is Jordanian director/writer Naji Abu Nowar's first feature film which he co-scripted with Bassel Ghandour. Set in the Arabian Desert of 1916, the film follows Theeb, a young Bedouin boy, and his brother Hussein as they leave the safety of their tribe to venture on a treacherous journey at the dawn of the Great Revolt. If Theeb is to survive he must quickly learn about adulthood, trust and betrayal.
