After Film Clinic Became a Leading Production Company in Independent Cinema
Mohamed Hefzy on Screen International's List of 30 Future Leaders
In Screen International's Monthly and Daily issues released in Cannes Film Festival, Producer and ScriptwriterMohamed Hefzy was named one of the magazine's list of Future Leaders: Producers 2013, making him the only Arab on the list this year.
The magazine shed light on Hefzy's milestones, starting out as a Scriptwriter, then founding Film Clinic to meet the growing demand for commercially viable scripts, and the subsequent development of the company's activities, which was described as "a leading production company in independent cinema".
Screen International mentioned the most successful film projects by Hefzy's Film Clinic including Asmaa,Microphone, Tahrir:2011, Asham, and My Brother the Devil, which was co-produced by Film Clinic and the film's Director Sally El Hossiny. All the previously mentioned films became successful hits in international film festivals.
The magazine has also mentioned Film Clinic's new upcoming projects including Excuse My French byAhmed Abdallah, Villa 69 by Ayten Ameen, Rags and Tatters by Amr Salama, and the US production Site 146. "I want to concentrate on a combination of projects with high commercial appeal for the local Arab market, as well as auteur films that may find a wide appeal across various film festival platforms," says Hefzy, reflecting on his company's future plans.
