Three Egyptian Films Distributed by MAD Solutions at Prague International Book Fair


After the announcement Egypt's selection as the guest of honor at the Prague InternationalBook Fair this year, MAD Solutions participates with three films at the fair and host director Hala Lotfy during the screening of her film Coming Forth By Day, in addition to Factory Girl directed by the great MohamedKhan and Harag W' Marag by Nadine Khan.

Helmed by veteran director Mohamed Khan, the film is written by Wessam Soliman, and starring a diverse array of new promising stars, such as YasminRaeis, Hani Adel, Salwa Khattab, Salwa Mohamed Ali, Ibtihal El Sereti. The film received 13 awards and a special mention from international festivals such as Dubai International Film Festival. MohamedKhan's Factory Girl was Egypt's official submission to the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 87thAcademy Awards (Oscars) and it was presented at the European Film Market during the 65thBerlin International Film Festival, within the framework of the first edition of ArabCinema Center (ACC) organized by MAD Solutions.

Harag W' Marag is based on Nadine Khan's story and also directed by her. The screenplay is written by Mohamed Nasser and stars Ayten Amer, Mohamed Farag, Ramzi Lehner, Hani EL Metenawy, Osama Attia, the great Sabry Abdel Menem and Sayed Ragab. The film was awarded 3 Arab awards; the most important is the Special Jury Prize from Dubai International Film Festival in 2012, in addition to 4 local awards.

Hala Lotfy will attend the screening of the film she wrote and directed, Coming Forth by Day starring Donia Maher, Ahmed Lotfy and Salma Al-Naggar. The film was chosen by Dubai International Film Festival in the 100 Greatest Arab Films List and won several Arab and international awards.

Prague International Book Fair (from 13 to 17 May) has announced that Egypt will be the guest of honor this year. Dana Kalinová, the Managing Director, mentioned that the fair will have several events revolving around Egyptian Culture in the presence of many Egyptian writers and artists.
