Three of Al Fishawy Films Are Part of International Festivals

Preparations are currently underway for Ahmad Al Fishawy's tour to attend film screenings for Sukkar Mor, Out of Order, and El Motarda in Split Film Festival in Croatia, Malmo Arab Film Festival in Sweden, and then Shnit International Short Film Festival in Cairo through September and October.

The tour will commence in Croatia where Al Fishawy will attend the international premiere of Out of Order, which he starred in and co-produced, at the Split Film Festival
(12 - 19 September). The film will compete in the Feature Films Competition.

Al Fishawy says, "I'm extremely thrilled to accompany my first film production on its premiere international premiere and I really hope that the film is well-received by the audience in Croatia and that it receives its first award."

The Split Film Festival specializes in screening the latest international films that should be creative, original, experimental, and presents new points of view. This is what encouraged the selection of Out of Order to be part of the competition.

Afterwards, Al Fishawy will move on to Sweden to attend the screenings of Sukkar Mor, which he co-starred in, and his short film Al Motarda, which he wrote and directed, in Malmo Arab Film Festival (2 - 6 October) which aims at encouraging cultural exchange and understanding among Arab speaking citizens and ethnic groups residing in Sweden.

Al Fishawy will then return to Cairo to attend the screening of El Motarda in the Big Names ... Short Films section in the 3rd edition of the Shnit International Short Film Festival
(7 - 18 October).

The Shnit International Short Film Festival is regarded as one of the biggest international short film festivals with awards reaching 100,000 dollars in value. The festival screens films simultaneously in several countries around the world: Hong Kong (China), Bangkok (Thailand), Bern (Switzerland), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Cape Town (South Africa), Moscow (Russia), and San Jose (California, USA) in an international celebration of short films.

A psychological thriller, Out of Order takes its viewers into a new level of unusualness by depicting a dark and twisted relationship between two different people; Saeed (Al Fishawy), a hustler leading a miserable life almost like a tramp, and Hoda (Shereen), a woman living alone and all she does in her life is watching.

Sukkar Mor is a romantic drama about seemingly perfect relationships, but this perfection may eventually lead to their demise, while other relationships may look impossible, but they last for unusual reasons. Through 5 years we witness the effect of the political and social turbulence on these relationships.

El Motarda is a short 3 and a half minute film about an adventurous chase between two people. It is written and directed by Ahmed Al Fishawy. He also co-produced it through his production company, Crystal dog, along with by Rola el-Dabs
